United States ranks 18th amongst 36 industrialized nations in the world, leaving economists worried about tomorrows growth. With Education Reform taking a front seat with public interests, it's time to turn our public schools Inside Out and start address the deficits and churning out innovation.

An A.P.B has been issued for the missing Math's and Sciences!
Last year, U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan issues a statement on the Nation's Report Card: Science 2009, National Assesment of Educational Progress (NAEP):
"The results released today show that our nation's students aren't learning at a rate that will maintain America's role as an international leader in the sciences. When only 1 or 2 percent of children score at the advanced levels on NAEP, the next generation will not be ready to be world-class inventors, doctors, and engineers".
Should we be worried that thousands of children in Arlington County public schools go all the way through the first half of 1st grade before the are even introduced to basic science? I believe "Science Week" is coming up in the month of March, but no sounds are being made in anticipation at my local elementary school. This is precisely why our nation is in an educational sink hole. Elementary age students are loosing valuable time during their developmental stages from under-exposure to these crucial studies in science and math in the public school systems.
Tomorrow, I am going into school and demanding...oh yes, parent/teacher conferences will be held for the next two days. No school.

Our own GOP Chairman, Mark Kelly to run in County Board Special Election in March
Mark Kelly has officially stepped up to the plate as the GOP candidate for Arlington County to run in the special elections for county board in March '12. Way to go Mark! With the democrats slinging mud at each other right now, I wonder if any of them saw this coming (?) Historically, republicans have had success in winning seats in Special Elections due to higher republican voter turnout. I'm excited to see the Arlington County Republican Committee so energized and ready to rally the voter's. As Precinct Captain of district 30, I'm talking about myself too!
Now is the time for Republicans to rally the bases and set off again for a big win over issues on higher personal property taxes, to much cement being poured (ok, that's my own pet peeve), more housing-more traffic, budgetary issues, musical chair(menship) on the county board, sanctuary cityesque un-appeal, tough and expensive permitting processes, oh, and that damn Trolley the county board wants to spend millions of your tax dollars on just so we can watch the Metro and ART Buses fight with the bicyclists who are pissing off driver's of CARS, who are trying to watch out for pedestrians while trying to pay attention to all the damn rode signs and LIGHTS, my heavens, all the lights!!!

Please Sign Petition regarding SB 477
This is the petition that will stop SB 477 from becoming law and criminalizing the pet ownership of what are currently considered "Non-Dangerous" pets/reptilia, and forcing these pet owner's to forfeit their animals to law enforcement or faced being charged with a Class 1 Misdemeanor. The reptilia that we do not agree with changing the classification to "dangerous" on are Boa Constrictors and Pythons. SB 477 also names "Non-Profit" organizations as being acceptable for licensing as wildlife sanctuaries. This is a blatant attempt by our own Congressmen to SILENCE OPPOSITION as Non-Profit Organizations are not allowed to give a political statement. This is wrong and needs to be stopped!
Please sign this petition and help our commitment to saving our pets, community members and small business including educational organizations from euthanasia and being criminalized, while we find a better way to address the problems.

KILL BILL SB 477 NOW!!!
SB477 "Dangerous Wild Animals" Bill; Disastrous for Virginia
While it is a fact that the general public should be protected from wild and dangerous animals SB477 goes above and beyond protection into penalizing and making criminal a whole section of the law abiding citizens within the commonwealth of Virginia. The herpetalogical community has been a boon to the Virginia economy and has a track record of being law abiding citizens whose property you are usurping. Yet, In many cases the animals listed in chapter 5 title 29.1 article 8 subsection 2. Class Reptilia b. Order Squamata, (2) Family Boidae such as but not limited to anacondas (Genus Eunectes), boa constrictors (Boa constrictor), Burmese pythons (Python molurus), reticulated pythons (Python reticulatus), amethystine pythons (Morelia amethistina), scrub pythons (Morelia kinghorni), Northern African pythons (Python sebae), Southern African pythons (Python natalensis), which are in fact not wild animals but do qualify as domesticated livestock or companion animal under § 3.1-73.6 of the Code of Virginia. Subsequently this legislation may have the unintended reactionary consequence of having more citizens of the commonwealth of Virginia decide to release into the wild their pets rather than have them confiscated and/or euthanized which is an outlined procedure for the seizure of “Dangerous Wild Animals”, which is exactly what this bill is trying to prevent. Scientific data as presented by North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Section of Human Ecology and Epidemiology, a peer reviewed scientific study, on the statistics across the US does not show any instances of released pet reptiles causing injuries or death to anyone in the state of Virginia or nationwide. The only known statistic of fatalities from snakes is from professional work related fatalities, coming in at .023 percent a total of 10 known deaths from *Other animals including but not limited to fish, water buffalo, snake, giraffe, bat, antelope, and unidentified farm animals.
Yet another thing to take into consideration is in an economy such as ours the burden it would place on state revenues to prosecute, procure, seize and transport said companion animals to qualifying facilities and/ or the euthanasia of said companion animals. Money from this industry could be a boon to our economy instead this places an unneeded amount of pressure on families and businesses that rely on the money generated from the exhibition, breeding, and sale of said companion animals. Please honorable delegates and senators of the Commonwealth of Virginia take into consideration these things and remove these listed animals from SB477 and any subsequent legislation enacted in the Virginia Senate. We the undersigned do put forth our support for this amendment to SB477.
Please pass along this petition and add more people as needed to this. I will be making it public today on e-petition as well as Care2 and several other sites. Please also go check out these sites and their response to the bill as well

Under Construction
I anticipate launching this site in full context before the Special Elections of County Board seat in Arlington County (April). I have an extraordinary amount of information I have collected over the past three and a half years, that date back six plus years, that demand the attention of the voting populous and I will link all relevant Arlington County Public School/School Board & Arlington County Board websites/email address and phone numbers. This blog is two fold. Focus one is zeroing in on the curriculum and the Office of the Superintendent. Focus two is on Special Education rights.
Keep checking back :) Much much more to come.
